{"id":193,"date":"2011-08-08T12:47:53","date_gmt":"2011-08-08T16:47:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/actionsportoptics.com\/blog\/?p=193"},"modified":"2011-10-15T15:53:30","modified_gmt":"2011-10-15T19:53:30","slug":"ski-and-snowboard-goggles-101","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/actionsportoptics.com\/blog\/ski-and-snowboard-goggles-101\/","title":{"rendered":"ski and snowboard goggles 101"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The middle of August is fast approaching, which means fall, and then winter are not far behind!\u00a0 ASO\u00a0will be receiving\u00a0 snow goggles from great\u00a0brands such as\u00a0 Spy, Anon, Dragon, and Scott this month and into September.\u00a0 Here are some key features and benefits that can be found on goggles that will be in stock at ASO, remember, as very active participants we carry everything you need, and nothing you don&#8217;t.\u00a0 If you have any questions about anything please hit us up!<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Spherical Lenses<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Spherical lenses have a consistent curve that helps in maximizing your field of view.\u00a0 The lens mimics the curvature of your eye to give you a better vision in all directions.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Cylindrical Lenses<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Cylindrical lenses are flat and more low profile, they do not have the curve that mimics the eyeball like the spherical lens.\u00a0 The cylindrical lenses are a bit more flexible then spherical and give great protection and style at a cheaper price.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Dual Lens<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>A dual lens is basically 2 lenses with an airspace in between the two.\u00a0 This insures proper climate control inside the goggle in the effort to keep vision clear in all conditions.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Anti-fog coatings<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Most companies put an anti-fog coating on the inside of the lens to help prevent condensation and fogging, which can definitely put a damper on an epic day on the hill.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Lens tints<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>There is a wide range of lens tints in the goggle industry, which are trying to cover the spectrum of the entire visible light transmission (VLT) spectrum.\u00a0 From blue bird days, to cloudy days, ASO tries to carry a range of brands and lens tints which work best in a broad range of conditions.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Mirrored and non mirrored lenses<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Mirrored lenses help cut the glare and give you extra style points, while unmirrored are simple and straightforward and provide great protection.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Helmet compatibility<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Are you wearing a helmet to protect your noggin?
